A morning ritual of the brightly colored one Her wet hair turbaned in white weave......In bright white on earth blackened by wetness, Many lines drawn, stretched from point to point By a hand and a gaze steady with purpose......Between the lines, dark empty spaces In triangles, squares and rounds; Opposites combine to calculatedly conceal Mysteries of the known and the unknown The seen and the hidden; an anubhava and a darshana......Some she fills with color, proposing desire; Some she leaves alone, for His disposed grace......Auspicious algorithms welcoming amplitude; And the ants that scattered return on cue to feed......Kolams !!!
The diya kolam is one of my favourites.....loved the way the colours brighten up the kolam against the lighter coloured flooring....
The kaavi/chemman used in the below kolams doesn't show very well....
Hence used red poster colour on top of kaavi/chemman....Now the kolams look bright...
